About IBPS CWE

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is a recruitment body that was started with an aim to encourage the recruitment and placement of young graduates in public sector banks in India. IBPS started Common Written Examination (CWE) in the year 2011 to recruit officers and clerks in Public Sector Banks. Since then, IBPS exam has been happening every year . It accepts online application through its official website for registration of the examination and conducts its all examination through online mode at various centers throughout India.

DESCRIPTIVE TEST

The descriptive test for IBPS PO Mains includes two sections; these will carry total 25 marks under 30 minutes to attempt:

  1. Letter Writing: You can ask to write the formal, semi-formal or informal letter based on general topics, current affairs & banking awareness.
  2. Essay Writing: Essay writing basically is a long article that can be asked on any random topic, especially on the topics related to current affairs/issues, or the issues that are bringing everybody’s attention lately.

After have to clear the sectional as well as overall cutoff, to be eligible for the interview process.

English Section:Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Grammar, Tenses, Match the sentences, Verbs, Subject-object, cloze test, Para jumbles, Fill in the blanks connectors, Sentence connector, Paragraph completion etc.

STAGE-1: IBPS CLERK PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION

There are three sections in total including Aptitude, Reasoning and English. A candidate must clear the sectional cut-off and overall cut-off to proceed to the Mains exam.

IBPS decides the minimum cut-off marks and selects the adequate number of candidates in each category for the Online Mains examination depending upon the requirement.
