Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Exam procedure

Staff Selection Commission hold an All India Open Competitive Examination for recruitment to the Group-“C” posts of Data Entry Operator in Pay Band-1, Grade Pay Rs. 2400 and Lower Division Clerk in Pay Band-1, Grade Pay Rs.1900 in various Central Government Ministries/ Departments/Offices. Minimum education qualification for the exam is 12th Standard Pass from recognized board/university. The exam will comprise of a written objective type Examination followed by Data Entry Skill Test/Typing Test.

Eligibility:

a.) Age: 18 to 27 Years of age at the time of Notification (Generally in the month of January or February)
b.) Nationality: The candidate should be a National of India/ Nepal or Bhutan.
c.) Qualification: The candidate must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University at the time of applying the Exam.

Application Procedure:
a) The applicants can apply for the exam by applying online on the official website of SSC.

b) The candidates may also apply offline by filling in the offline form and submitting in the respective SSC Offices.

The examination will consist of a Written Examination and Skill Test for the post of Data Entry Operator and Written Test and Typing Test for the post of Lower Division Clerk on Computer.

The Tier-I Examination will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions only. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi for Part-II, III & IV. There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.  

Tier-II (Descriptive Paper)

Tier-II Paper will be a descriptive Paper of 100 Marks in „Pen and Paper‟ Mode. The duration of the Descriptive Paper will be for one hour

. The Paper would comprise writing of an Essay of 200-250 words and a Letter/ Application of approximately 150-200 words.

 The minimum qualifying marks in Tier-II would be 33 per cent.

Tier-III (Skill Test/ Typing Test): Skill Test/ Typing Test for the qualified candidates will be conducted on computers provided by the Commission or its authorized agency.

SSC GD Eligibility

Various parameters that candidates need to fulfill in order to meet SSC GD Constable eligibility are:

  • Nationality – Candidates must be citizens of India
  • Age Limit – Candidates should be aged between 18 and 23 years
  • Educational Qualification – Candidates must have passed Class 10 from a recognised board. Candidates appearing for their qualifying examination (Class 10) are not eligible for the exam
